We really wanted to grow this wine and looking at it now I so wish I’d slipped into the barrel shed one weekend and swapped over the wine code stickers. What makes it worse, is without question, that’s what ‘Happy Fingers’ McMurtrie would have done. In fairness Nat does have one of the very best Vineyards in McLaren Vale, his Cab is rightly at unbackable odds each year to take out the Trophy at The Not the Winemakers Lunch that PC proudly hosts each year, and usually wins. Equally he charges us too much for the fruit, cries poor about how hard grape growing is and loves nothing more than waxing on about better times. Anyway, top notch wine, grape growing and bloke so guess we’ll take our rightful place on the lower podium for this year.
