100% Shiraz fruit selected from numerous, specially selected sites in McLaren Vale. The fruit was crushed into 2 tonne fermenters with two-a-day pump overs until fermented dry. The wine then went into neutral French and American oak for 14 months to add complexity.
Deep red colour with a good tint of purple, the bouquet strongly marked by charred oak, while the palate is medium-full bodied and fleshy, with tannin and extract and grip. This has the weight and structure to handle hearty foods such as barbecued steak. A very tasty mouthful of hearty shiraz, which is great value for money.
